Wedding/Vow Renewal

Rose Ceremony

In this ceremony, the couple can choose to present a rose to their mothers, to show love and appreciation for the care and support that they have received from them. It is a beautiful, but simple way to include the mothers into the ceremony.

Certificate signing

This involves the couple and their chosen witnesses each taking it in turns to sign a beautiful custom certificate, designed to match the style and colours of your wedding, commissioned specially for the couple, which is a wonderful keepsake and the perfect opportunity to invite all of your guests around to witness the signing.

Sand blending ceremony

This ceremony is perfect for any wedding but even more so to symbolise the joining of extended families, when step children are coming together, or the couple would like a way to include their children into the ceremony.
A beautiful glass bottle is filled with different coloured sand, each colour representing a person, creating one family from a number of people.
I can source a wide array of beautiful bottles, or if you have one that is special to your family, I am happy for us to use this.

Unity candle ceremony

Enter your answer here. Be thoughtful, write clearly and concisely, and consider adding written as well as visual examples. Go over what you’ve written to make sure that if it was the first time you were visiting the site, you’d understand your answer.

First Kiss, Last Kiss

This ceremony involves inviting the mother of the couple up to join them towards the end of their ceremony.
The mothers gave their children their first kiss when they came into the world, and will give them their last kiss as single people, before they start their new journey as a married couple.

Handfasting  ceremony

We know it’s very likely the term to ‘tie the knot’ stems from the handfasting ceremony.
In this ceremony, the celebrant wraps the ribbons or cords around their hands as they say their wedding oaths. When the bride and groom are asked to step apart a knot is formed in the middle of the cords, binding their two lives together as one.
This is a great way to demonstrate your love and commitment to each other, giving you and your guests something visual and tactile to focus on. It is also a great keepsake to remind you of the best day of your life!
I can source beautiful ribbons and cords, to match colour schemes, or strips of tartan to match a kilt, and these beautiful binds can make a wonderful keepsake.

Naming Ceremony

Time capsule

Ask each of the grandparents, and your chosen guide parents, to bring a gift and a note for your child, to be locked safe in a time capsule which can be opened on the child's 18th birthday, or at a date of your choosing. Add a newspaper from the day they were born, and a note from the parents, and this is a beautiful part of the ceremony where people can come together and truly feel like they are playing a part in this special day.

Signing a naming certificate

Signing a naming certificate provides a short pause in the ceremony and the perfect photo opportunity during which the parent/parents and supporting adults sign a specially created custom certificate, witnessed by all in attendance, marking the occasion. The certificate can be kept by the family as a memento of the event.

Wish trees

Invite your guests to write promises, words of advice and good wishes on individual tags to hang on a tree. A living tree outside, or a beautiful artificial one I can provide for indoor ceremonies.
Following the ceremony, these can be collected, and placed into a beautiful wooden memory box, inscribed with your child's name .

Sand blending ceremony

The sand ceremony can be used to symbolise the input, committment and contribution that the parents, grandparents and chosen guide parents are making to the child, who's ceremony it is.
The ritual involves filling a glass vessel with layers of different coloured sands, each person taking their own smaller vessel, and taking it in turns to layer and blend the sand, creating a beautiful memento of the day.
I can source beautiful bottles and jars for the ceremony, or if you have one of importance in your family, i am happy for us to use this.

Candle lighting

A flame symbolises, new life, hope, warmth and the brightening of lives, as a new addition is welcomed into the family.
A candle lighting ceremony can be done in a number of ways, including just the parents, or the grandparents, and guide parents can also play a part.
The candles can be lit with an accompanying reading, or with music.
